Description Winner, Open Category. Mosman Park Art Awards 2011 Judy Rogers was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1963 and moved to Perth in 1995. She has been an artist since 2003, after lecturing at Tafe in Perth, delivering graphic repro training. She also delivers workshops in textiles, painting, sculpture to adults and students, and is a Board member of the Joondalup Community Arts Association and also Curator of Blend(er) Gallery.
Artist Statement I was commissioned to paint Flora's portrait in January 2011. She lives in Mosman Park. I spent some time at the girl's family home, observing her lovely and privileged life. She has such a sunny. lively disposition that I asked her parents permission to paint her for the awards. Relaxed at Flora's family home with the dog, summed up for me, as a visitor, how it would feel to live in Mosman Park. There is a freshness to the environment that brings a feeling of joy. Flora is a metaphor for that feeling as she progresses through life with the openness of a child with so much to look forward to new.
National Relay Service
People who are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment can call the Town of Mosman Park through the National Relay Service.
Solar Power at the Administration
The Town of Mosman Park has installed solar panels (photo voltaic cells) on the roof of the Administration building. We’re producing power and reducing carbon emissions.
