Request for a copy of house plans
The Town of Mosman Park can, where records are available, provide copies of approved building plans for properties within the Town.
Building records are generally available from the 1970s onwards. Records for properties constructed before this time may be incomplete or unavailable. Please also note that the quality of older plans may vary due to the age and condition of the original documents.
Where available, copies may include:
- Site plan
- Floor plans
- Elevations
- Footing details
- Structural drawings
- Housing Indemnity Insurance documentation (where applicable)
We recommend providing copies of approved house plans to your real estate agent when selling your property. This allows prospective purchasers to confirm that structures on the property have been approved by the Town. Please note that this check is not undertaken as part of an Orders and Requisitions search.
Who can request copies?
Copies of building plans are generally only available to:
- the current property owner recorded by the Town; or
- a person authorised in writing by the property owner; or
- the mortgagee.
Proof of identity will be required before the plans are released.
Fees
A search fee of $94.00 applies to all requests.
Please note that this fee covers the search of the Town’s records and is non-refundable, even if no building plans are located.
Where plans are available, they will be provided electronically.
How to apply
To request a copy of your house plans, complete the Request for Copy of House Plans form and submit it to the Town.
Please allow up to 10 working days for your request to be processed.
