Revive Mosman Park: Transforming our Town Centre together

Transforming our Town Centre together

Have you heard the exciting news? The Town of Mosman Park is progressing with plans that will completely transform the Mosman Park Town Centre, and we need YOUR help to make it happen!

This project has been in the works since 2017, with the Town working hard with our residents and local businesses to develop plans which will revitalise the town centre. You can check out what’s been happening since the project inception here.

Now, with recent changes to the state planning framework, we’re taking it to the next level with a new precinct structure plan that will provide more detailed planning for this important area.

The Mosman Park Precinct Structure Plan (MPPSP) takes over from the Town Centre Plan, with Coles and Monument Street now being included in the plan.

The MPPSP is a big deal. A major consideration for the plan will be creating a framework that enables change to meet the future population while respecting the local character of the centre that our community loves. The State Government has set the Town a target of 1,500 new dwellings by 2050, so this plan is essential for the future of our town.

To bring the project from concept to reality, we’ve enlisted the help of the experts at Hames Sharley, who will be leading the development of the MPPSP. They’ll be working with a consultant team to consider all aspects of the precinct, from the local community vision and values to the environment, cultural and heritage values, and more.

We need your help – so please get involved

Input from the community is essential for making this project a success.

We are establishing a Community Reference Group (CRG) comprising of 40 randomly selected members of the community who will participate in two intensive workshops in May and June.

The CRG will work with others from the community and consider all the information available about the town centre, using this to guide the recommended development, design and character outcomes for the town centre into the future.

The group will meet on two occasions at the Town of Mosman Park’s Council Lounge and it is important that CRG nominees are free to attend both workshops:

  • Saturday 13 May 2023, 10am-4pm
  • Saturday 10 June 2023, 10am-4pm

To find out more about registering for the CRG head over to YourSay and register your interest by 6 April 2023. The Town is also proposing to convene a broader community engagement panel for ongoing community engagement. If you would like to be included in this register of interested community members, please note this in your response.

Council will need to endorse the final precinct structure plan and with your help, we’re confident that it will be a huge success. So get ready, because the Mosman Park Town Centre Precinct Structure Plan is going to be amazing!
