31 Wellington St Fire Update

Units on floors 1-6 inclusive are able to return to their units now.
Gas company and Synergy employees will work together with Strata Management and yourselves to have your gas and power turned back on.

The following units on floors 7 & 8 are able to return to their units now; 56, 57, 58, 60, 61, 62, 64, 65, 66, 68, 70 & 71.

Please note that mould has formed, evident on the carpets of unit 61.

Mould Caution
We draw the attention of all parties involved in this matter to the presence of mould at the site in question.  Mould is extremely dangerous when toxic and should be handled with the utmost care and under the control or supervision of licensed toxic materials handlers or commercially registered hygienists. 


The following units on floors 7 & 8 remain closed except to retrieve items; 59, 63, 67, & 69.
Structural clearance is pending on these units.  

Unit 69 is closed to all access pending removal of asbestos.

Asbestos concerns have been cleared for all units except for unit 69, where the fire occurred.

The Town will provide a further update at 3pm on Friday 16 March.

The evacuation centre is no longer available.
