Traffic Calming Works - McCabe Street

The City of Fremantle’s capital works programme requires the City to carry out traffic calming works at the intersection of McCabe Street and Tasker Place, North Fremantle.  The works are scheduled to begin 19 March 2019 to the 9 April 2019. All works will be conducted between the hours of 6.30am and 5.00pm with exception to the asphalt component which will be installed on the evening of Monday 8 April 2019.

The traffic calming will encorporate a raised asphalt platform, new road drainage, kerbing, footpaths and landscaping. Due to the location and nature of the asphalt component, Main Roads WA has advised that under the West Australian Traffic Management For Works On Road Code Of Practice (July 2014 revision) Section 5.2.2. the works have been classified as complex and high risk and consequently work can only be carried out at night. Therefore the City of Fremantle intends to install the asphalt on  Monday 8 April 2019 between the hours of 6pm and 6am.

This will involve the closure of McCabe Street, Tasker Place intersection for one night. Suitably qualified traffic management will be in attendance and implement the necessary detours to limit any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for your co-operation in this matter and we regret any inconvenience caused.

If you have any enquiries, please contact City of Fremantle's customer service team on 9432 9999.
