Carissa Bywater will be the new Chief Executive Officer of the Town of Mosman Park

Mayor Brett Pollock made the announcement after the appointment was confirmed at a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday night.

‘We are very pleased to welcome Carissa as the new CEO,’ he said.  ‘Her qualifications and experience are excellent and I have no doubt Carissa will provide great leadership for the staff and forge a strong partnership with the Council.  She is going to be real asset for our community.’

Mrs Bywater signed her new contract with Mayor Pollock on Wednesday morning and said she is excited about the opportunity and looking forward to getting started.  She will take up the position in June at which time the interim CEO, Stephen Goode, will be leaving the position.

The new CEO brings a strong background in local government, particularly in finance and administration, before a successful six years as General Manager – a position equivalent to CEO – at Forbes Shire Council, NSW.

She has a Bachelor of Business in Accounting, post graduate qualifications and an MBA.  She will leave her position as Director of Corporate and Strategy at City of Bayswater to take up the CEO position.

Mayor Pollock said that she has won this appointment from a very strong field of candidates after a thorough recruiting process.  ‘I look forward to working with her and introducing her to our Mosman Park community,’ he said.
