COVID-19 update

Impacts and changes to Council services from 31 Jan

Our impact in 2021

2021 has been a year of transformation for the Town of Mosman Park.

This year, we have invested in our people, started modernising our internal systems and deepened our communication and engagement with residents. We have adjusted the lens; sharpening our focus on customer service, fostering a meaningful connection with our community, and stepping up to achieve good governance.

Of course – actions speak louder than words. So what did we achieve and deliver for our community in 2021?

  • We welcomed over 50 new Australian citizens in Mosman Park
  • We revitalised Gibbon Park with a new nature playground, more trees, new BBQ facilities and seating and a new path
  • We launched a brand new website so it’s easier and quicker to access what they need at any time on any device
  • We got the ball rolling on modernising and streamlining systems and technology, starting with the new Antenno app for residents to report issues and contact the Town easier/quicker
  • The much-loved Buckland Hill Rotunda was restored to maintain its character and amenity
  • Green Place Jetty was given a new lease on life and restored with new timber planks and supports
  • Together with Friends of Mosman Park Bushland and the Mosman Park Men’s Shed we built the western suburb’s first birdwatching platform installed at Point Roe
  • Tom Perrott Reserve was installed with new sports lights for the benefit of players, spectators and community sport in Mosman Park
  • We also resurfaced the much-used carpark at Tom Perrott Reserve
  • We worked with the Mosman Park Men’s Shed to put on a hugely successful craft market
  • We have been joining forces with our neighbouring councils in areas of workplace health and safety
  • Our Parks team planted 7,000 trees this winter to further our street tree canopy
  • We developed a new Strategic Community Plan 2021-2031 thanks to the input of over 1,000 community members and residents
  • Thanks to grant funding, we revegetated Mosman Beach and eco-zoned Swansea Park
  • Our Planning & Development team are making good progress with our Wellington Village Precinct Local Planning Policies which have been adopted to help establish and preserve the heritage and character in the area.

In the coming years – guided by our new Strategic Community Plan 2021-2031 – the Town will keep investing back into the community by future-proofing infrastructure and revitalising our open green spaces. This will help propel us into the future as an innovative, resourceful and collaborative local government that makes Mosman Park a pleasure and a privilege to call home.
