Every local government in Western Australia must listen to the community in its district and develop a Strategic Community Plan (SCP) that identifies community objectives and sets out how they may be achieved. The SCP is part of a suite of other plans that support achievement of these objectives. It is a high priority document and defines the priorities, actions and initiatives which Council will focus on over the ensuing decade to satisfy community expectations. A SCP is extensively reviewed every four years to make sure it continues to reflect community aspirations. A minor review during this time assesses the progress the Council has made towards meeting the objectives in its SCP.
