SUMMARY:Evergreen: a celebration of WA’s majestic eucalypts by Karina Buckingham
DESCRIPTION:The Town of Mosman Park is delighted to share that Gallows Gallery will be hosting a stunning new exhibition\, Evergreen\, by acclaimed Perth artist Karina Buckingham from 3-13 July 2025. \nThis evocative collection showcases around 20 original paintings that honour the diversity\, grandeur and life-giving presence of Western Australia’s eucalyptus trees. Drawing on her deep personal connection with the natural world\, Karina’s work is inspired by walks through urban parks and native forests – capturing the textures\, colours\, light and spiritual resonance of WA’s unique woodland landscapes. \nEach painting in Evergreen is a reflection of Karina’s immersive experience in nature. Through innovative painting techniques and expressive mark-making\, her work invokes the feeling of walking beneath the canopy of gum leaves\, standing in dappled light\, and absorbing the quiet energy of the trees. It’s a tribute not only to the aesthetic beauty of these trees but also to their vital role in our ecosystems and sense of place. \nThis exhibition marks Karina’s second solo show at Gallows Gallery\, following the success of Walk of Wonder: Reflections of the Cape to Cape Track in 2022. Since becoming a full-time artist in 2018\, Karina has achieved significant recognition\, including selection as a finalist in the 2023 International Art2Life Juried Exhibition and the 2024 Perth Royal Art Prize. \nKey Exhibition Details:\n\nExhibition Dates: 3-13 July 2025\nOpening Night: Friday 4 July\, 6pm\nArtist Talk: Sunday 6 July\, 3pm–4pm\nLocation: Gallows Gallery\, 53 Glyde Street\, Mosman Park\nRSVP: Required for both the opening and artist talk. Register at karinabuckingham.com/rsvps\n\nWhether you’re a long-time lover of nature or an admirer of contemporary Australian art\, Evergreen offers a rich and contemplative experience not to be missed. \nWe encourage our local community and visitors alike to explore this exhibition and celebrate the beauty that surrounds us\, right here in the heart of Mosman Park.

SUMMARY:Desmond Freeman’s New York Exhibition at Gallows Gallery
DESCRIPTION:The Town of Mosman Park is proud to see our thriving local arts scene with the upcoming exhibition New York by internationally acclaimed artist Desmond Freeman\, hosted right here in our community at Gallows Gallery from 12 to 29 June 2025. \nThis extraordinary solo exhibition invites visitors on a visual journey through the architectural wonders and vibrant street life of New York City. Known for his masterful pencil drawings and richly coloured paintings\, Freeman brings the energy and diversity of the Big Apple to life through works that are as technically impressive as they are emotionally resonant. \nA trained architect and urban sketcher\, Freeman captures both sweeping cityscapes and the finer details of New York’s historic facades with equal precision and heart. Among the exhibition’s highlights are large-scale pencil drawings of Manhattan’s iconic blocks\, alongside expressive paintings that radiate the city’s dynamic atmosphere. \nGallows Gallery Director Kathryn Stafford describes the exhibition as a special opportunity for our community to connect with world-class art: \n\nDesmond Freeman’s New York series offers a compelling dialogue between structure and spirit. These works are more than representations—they’re meditations on the soul of a city that has inspired artists for generations. We’re thrilled to bring this international perspective to our Perth audience. \n\nThe Town warmly invites residents and visitors alike to attend the exhibition launch on 12 June from 6:30pm to 8:30pm—a wonderful chance to enjoy a night of art\, conversation\, and community. RSVPs are welcome via info@gallowsgallery.com. \nIn addition\, an artist floor talk will take place on Sunday\, 22 June at 3pm \, offering deeper insight into Freeman’s artistic process and the inspirations behind his work. \nComplementing the exhibition is the release of Freeman’s latest book\, New York: Impressions in Ink – a signed and numbered\, 96-page full-colour coffee table book that continues his beloved Impressions series. It will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition. \nWe are proud to see events like this enriching the cultural fabric of Mosman Park and encourage everyone to come along and experience this celebration of art\, architecture\, and urban storytelling. \n\nEVENT DETAILS:Gallows Gallery\, 53 Glyde St\, Mosman Park12–29 June 2025Opening Night: 12 June\, 6:30pm–8:30pmArtist Floor Talk: Sunday\, 22 June at 3pm RSVP: info@gallowsgallery.com \nWe hope to see you there\, supporting local culture and enjoying this special artistic experience in the heart of Mosman Park.
