April 2021 OCM wrap-up

Learn more about the key decisions at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 27 April.

Council adopted the Model Code of Conduct – pertaining to Councillors, Committee Members, and Candidates. The requirement for this new Councillor specific Code of Conduct comes from the introduction of the Local Government (Model Code of Conduct) Regulations 2021. This item was passed with an amendment, calling for a definition of bullying to be included.

As an addition to the Code of Conduct, Council also adopted general procedures regarding Code of Conduct complaints.

Council considered the 2018 Sports and Recreation Plan and moved to reject the plan in its current form. The purpose of this report was to close the loop and give our community some certainty that the plan will not go ahead.

Finally, Council approved the new CEO Standards. These standards were introduced in February 2021 and set the standards from CEO recruitment, performance, and termination.
