Wellington Village street upgrades

At its August Ordinary Council Meeting, Council received 8 petitions from residents around the Wellington Street shops, raising concerns about limited green space, underused community areas, and pedestrian safety around these intersections. The petitions all raised ideas to make our neighbourhoods better, from more green space to community areas and safer, more walkable streets. This is a great example of local voices shaping local decisions.

The Town will now be putting forward recommendations on how we can continue to support local businesses on Wellington Street, with the aim of turning them into actionable upgrades across 2026-27.

We will post updates to this page as the street improvements take place.
