Street trees

Street trees need to be protected during any development as they are invaluable Town assets, particularly in urban environments where the conditions can be additionally harsh due to roads, roofs and large amounts of impermeable surfaces creating urban heat islands. Trees provide shade for pedestrians and cyclists, provide habitat and refuge for local birds and other fauna, improve air quality as well as the overall way our streets look and feel.
