Mosman Park’s 2026/27 Budget prioritises core services to deliver long-term value for the community

Mosman Park Council has adopted its $17.7 million Budget with investment in more trees, better roads, playground upgrades, safer streets and other core council services.

The Budget also marks a return to urban greening and infrastructure renewal, with the Town set to move more services in-house to support long-term value for the community.

Deputy Mayor Andrew Maurice said the Budget balances community priorities and expectations with the long-term financial sustainability of the Town.

“The 26/27 Budget prioritises the delivery of essential services while ensuring every rate dollar goes as far as possible for our community.”

He also noted that the Town’s 5.9 per cent rates increase reflects the realities facing councils across Perth.

“We acknowledge this comes at a time when households are managing their own cost pressures. This isn’t a decision Council makes lightly – but we also have a responsibility to maintain and improve the core services and assets our community relies on, and to do that sustainably over the long term.”

“This budget is about being honest with our community about what it costs to maintain the standard of living people expect here,” said Deputy Mayor Maurice.

Mosman Park Tennis Club and the Mosman Park Bowling Club will benefit from the Budget, demonstrating a continued investment in public amenities and community sport.

Key projects for 2026/27 include:

  • Glyde Street improvements – $500,000
  • Road resurfacing for Wellington Street – $300,000
  • Roof restoration works at Mosman Park Bowling Club – $150,000
  • Mann Oval skate bowl and basketball court replacement – $150,000
  • Stirling Highway footpath replacement $125,000
  • Buckland Hill playground renewal – $120,000
  • Mosman Park Tennis Club air conditioning and court upgrades – $70,000

Rate notices will be issued in July, with the first instalment due on 2 September 2026. Ratepayers are encouraged to go paperless and sign up for eRates at mosmanpark.wa.gov.au/rates

Households experiencing financial difficulty are encouraged to reach out confidentially to the Town as soon as possible on 9383 6600 to discuss the support and payment options available.

2026/27 is a Gross Rental Value (GRV) revaluation year, meaning the Valuer General has reassessed rental values for properties across Mosman Park.

This may mean some ratepayers see a bigger shift in their rates than others, even though the Town’s overall rate in the dollar has been adjusted to raise only the revenue needed to deliver services and infrastructure for the community.

The Town does not set individual property valuations – these are determined independently by the Valuer General.
