McCabe Street works and road closures
If you’re travelling along McCabe Street next week, please be aware of two projects taking place at the same time.
Water Corporation Works along McCabe Street
A section of McCabe Street at 15 McCabe Street, Fremantle will be fully closed from Monday 31 August to Wednesday 2 September, between 9am and 3pm each day.
The closure is required while Urban Road Boring WA, on behalf of the Water Corporation, undertakes boring works for a tunnel beneath McCabe Street.
When is the road closure happening?
The road will be fully closed from 9am to 3pm, Monday 31 August to Wednesday 2 September.
How will the road closure impact me?
Road users should expect delays and detours around the closure during work hours.
Please plan ahead, allow additional time for your journey and follow traffic management signage and directions.
Sewer works along McCabe Street
Sewer works along McCabe Street will take place during August and September.
138 metres of new Water Corporation sewer pipeline is being installed between Hayes Terrace and Palmerston Street.
When are the sewer works happening?
The works commenced on 24 August and are anticipated to be completed by the end of September.
Works will take place Monday to Saturday, from 7am to 6pm.
Why are these works taking place?
These works are an important part of upgrading the local wastewater network to support both existing and future sewer requirements. They will also help facilitate the broader improvements being delivered as part of the redevelopment at the Rocky Bay site.
How will the sewer works impact me?
- Temporary single and occasional dual-lane road closures will be in place.
- There will be a temporary increase in noise, dust, vibration and construction activity.
- Traffic management will be in place to maintain safe access for road users, pedestrians and workers.
