This September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Perth researcher Jacob Byrne is taking on an extraordinary challenge to make a difference for young lives affected by brain cancer. Jacob is running 30 marathons in 30 days across Perth, raising funds and awareness for vital childhood brain cancer research through the Big Run for Little Brains campaign.
Brain cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in Australian children, yet it remains one of the most underfunded areas of research. Jacob’s mission is to change that by shining a spotlight on the urgent need for greater investment and support.
On Thursday 4 September, Jacob will be running through the Town of Mosman Park as part of his journey. We encourage our community to show their support – whether that’s cheering him on as he passes, helping to spread the word, or contributing to the cause.
How you can get involved
- Share the word with your family, friends, and neighbours
- Cheer Jacob on when he runs through Mosman Park
- Donate or learn more at thekids.org.au/bigrunforlittlebrains
- Follow Jacob’s journey on Instagram: @jvcobyrne
Every step Jacob takes is for the children and families impacted by brain cancer. With the support of our community, we can help raise awareness and funds that will drive life-saving research and bring hope to families across Australia.
Together, we can help shine a light on childhood brain cancer and support research that changes lives.
