Milestone approval for Glyde Street

The Metro-Inner Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) has recently granted approval for the proposed 10-storey mixed-use development on Glyde Street, representing a significant milestone for the Town of Mosman Park.

This project provided the first practical application of the Town’s Local Planning Policy No. 32 – Community Benefit Contributions. The framework was endorsed by the JDAP, with one panel member noting its sophistication, reflecting the Town’s robust approach to planning and community outcomes.

Importantly, this development also marks the first use of the Town’s Public Arts Contribution, a key component of our commitment to enhancing local character and cultural vibrancy. This ensures that public art continues to enrich shared spaces and foster a strong sense of place for our community.

Through this approval, the development will deliver $259,000 worth of infrastructure works within the Glyde Street Streetscape Masterplan area, Zone 4. These improvements will be completed and provided by the applicant, creating lasting benefits for the local community and public spaces.

The Town is proud to see our planning policies effectively guiding development while securing meaningful outcomes for residents and community. This milestone demonstrates how careful planning and clear community benefit frameworks can deliver positive results for both the Town and those who live, work, and visit here.
