Mosman Park Golf Club – Fairway Realignment and Tree Planting

Mosman Park Golf Club will be undertaking a realignment of the 9th/18th hole fairway during its scheduled course maintenance this week. The realignment aims to improve safety for residents, pedestrians, and vehicles near Bateman Street, by shifting the fairway 60 metres west, reducing the risk of errant golf balls reaching the road or nearby homes.

As part of these works, five exotic trees will be removed and one local grass tree relocated. Tree removal is not a decision taken lightly. The Town of Mosman Park remains deeply committed to preserving and enhancing our urban canopy, recognising the vital role trees play in supporting biodiversity, improving amenity, and contributing to climate resilience.

In alignment with this commitment, the Golf Club has pledged to plant 10 new local native trees for every tree removed, resulting in 50 new trees to be planted during the 2026 winter planting season. A diverse mix of endemic local species will be selected to ensure a long-term ecological benefit is achieved.

We thank the community for their understanding and support as we work together to maintain safety and protect our natural environment.
