The Town of Mosman Park is delighted to share that Rainbow Bee eaters have recently been spotted across the community, including within several Friends of Mosman Park bushland conservation areas.
These striking native birds are known for their vibrant plumage and graceful flight. Residents may spot them perched on fence posts or flying low as they hunt insects, particularly in open spaces near bushland and water.
Rainbow Bee eaters nest on the ground, which makes them especially vulnerable to disturbance during the breeding season. The Town encourages everyone to help protect these special visitors by staying on designated paths, keeping dogs on a leash and well clear of nesting areas, and observing the birds from a distance.
With a little care from the community, we can help ensure Rainbow Bee-eaters can safely raise their young and continue to be part of Mosman Park’s rich natural environment.
