We love seeing our parks and ovals come alive with community spirit – from weekend sports and kids’ training to daily dog walks. These shared spaces are vital for connecting, exercising, and enjoying the outdoors together. As more people use these areas, we ask dog owners to help keep our parks safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.
Being a Responsible Dog Owner
Please follow these key guidelines during sports events and training:
- Keep dogs on-lead within five metres of sports grounds during games or training
- No dogs are allowed in playgrounds – these are designated child-safe zones
- Dogs must always be under control – no chasing or harassing people, birds, or other animals
Respect and Consideration Matter
Even the friendliest dogs can make some people uneasy, especially during busy times. To ensure everyone feels comfortable, please:
- Stay on-lead and keep your dog close during peak periods
- Always pick up after your dog to keep our parks clean
- If your dog gets stressed by noise or crowds, consider visiting during quieter times
- Follow signage and respect event boundaries designed to keep players, spectators, and dogs safe
