September Special Council Meeting update

Learn more about the decisions from our Special Council Meeting on 2 September.

Bird Park Landscape Project

Following 21 days of community consultation, Council has supported the officer’s recommendation to reject a proposal put forward by a developer to landscape Bird Park. Community feedback has been clear and decisive with an overwhelming amount of residents opposing the landscape project. The Town will continue to partner with Friends of Bird Park to future-proof the natural area with minor initiatives so as to preserve local flora and fauna.

Strategic Community Plan

After engaging close to 800 community members as part of the Town’s most comprehensive engagement initiative ‘Imagine Mossie Park’, Council has unanimously adopted the Town’s Strategic Community Plan 2021-2031. The Plan sets a blueprint for the next 10 years in Mosman Park and provides a beacon of light for Council decision making.

Wellington Village Precinct

The Town is a step closer to establishing the existing and desired future character of the Wellington Village Precinct, after Council adopted Local Planning Policy – ‘Wellington Village Precinct: Context and Character’ [LPP21]. Council’s green light allows our planners to begin public advertising for LPP21, after stage 1 community consultation returned valuable feedback from residents to support the Town’s endeavour to honour and preserve the character and heritage of Mosman Park.
