ATCO will be undertaking essential gas pipeline upgrades along Solomon Street in Mosman Park from Monday 18 August through to late September 2025. These works are part of the Swan River Crossing project led by Main Roads WA, which requires ATCO to relocate existing gas infrastructure between Fremantle and Cottesloe to support the construction of the new Fremantle Bridge.
Construction will occur in stages on weekdays between 7am and 5pm, with works focused on the road reserve and verges adjacent to Mosman Park Primary School, between Lochee Street and Victoria Street.
WILL THERE BE ANY IMPACTS TO LOCAL RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES?
To facilitate the installation of new gas assets, a series of road closures must be implemented along Solomon Street as outlined below. Please note – this schedule is subject to change in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Monday 18 August to Friday 29 August 2025*, Solomon Street carpark (south)
No access to the Solomon Street public carpark south at the Victoria Street entrance will be limited from the 18th to the 21st August and then again from the 25th – 26th August. Limited access to MPPS onsite staff carpark (corner of Solomon Street and Victoria Street) and footpath on western side of the carpark will be maintained for the duration of works.
Monday 1 September to ~Monday 29 September 2025*, Solomon Street carpark (north and south)
Limited access from Victoria Street to MPPS staff carpark and Solomon Street south public carpark from 7am-5pm for the duration of works, however pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. No road access to Solomon Street south from Victoria Street between 5pm -7am and on weekends.
Limited access to public carparks along Solomon Street north for the duration of works, however pedestrian access to schools and ovals will be maintained at all times.
Residents and businesses near the construction site may experience some localised dust, noise and vibrations during construction, however ATCO is committed to working with its contractors to minimise any impacts on nearby homes and businesses wherever possible. Noise management plans will comply with council guidelines.
To facilitate the upgrades, temporary road closures and restricted access to public carparks will be in place. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout, and ATCO will notify residents directly if any work is required outside standard hours.
Residents and businesses may notice some dust, noise, and minor vibrations during construction. ATCO is working closely with contractors to minimise disruption and ensure compliance with council noise guidelines. Occasional gas venting may occur, but this poses no health risk.
Any questions or issues regarding the closures can be directed to ATCO at communityfeedback@atco.com or contacting ATCO on 13 13 52.
