Filming and Photography
Approval from the Town of Mosman Park is required to undertake filming or stills photography on council owned property, in open spaces and outdoor areas such as footpaths, roads, and parks. Approval is required when you have a filming/photography group of five or more (including cast and crew). Applications must be submitted at least 15 business days prior to any activity taking place.
Types of filming activities that require a permit or approval include recording for commercial and non-commercial purposes:
- Television series
- Drone filming
- Student projects
- Advertising commercials
- Media broadcasting.
When submitting your application with the Town, please include the following information:
- Public liability insurance to the minimum value of $10 million
- Filming / photography location(s) site map
- Base location site plan (filming)
- Parking requirements site map
- Traffic and/or pedestrian management plan (if filming or photography is impacting roads or footpaths).
Drones
When submitting your application with the Town, please include the following information:
- A copy of the Drone Operators Remote Pilot Licence (RePL)
- Proposed 30m safety exclusion zone and the use and positioning of signage
- The operator’s Certificate for Public Liability Insurance, to the minimum value of $10 million
- Traffic and/or pedestrian management plan (when drone operations or safety exclusion zone(s) impact Town footpaths or road reserves.
