The Town of Mosman Park is committed to keeping our community clean and ensuring the protection of the environment. The Town’s Rangers ensure that the provisions of the Litter Act 1979 and the Town’s Local Waste Law 2023 are complied with to maintain the cleanliness of the Town. Rangers respond to reports of illegal dumping and littering and may impose fines for breaches of the Litter Act 1979 or the Local Waste Law 2023.
Help us keep Mosman Park tidy:
- Deposit litter in proper refuse bins and receptacles for litter.
- Ensure your rubbish bin lids are kept closed and that your bins are not over loaded.
- Do not deposit commercial or domestic refuse in public litter bins.
- Secure and cover loads on trailers, utilities, and open trucks properly.
- Do not deposit refuse in bushland or parks.
- Do not allow building site refuse to adversely affect neighbours.
- Return shopping trolleys to the store and do not abandon them in streets or parks. Report abandoned trolleys from Coles here.
- Report any instances of illegal dumping or littering that you see.
- Excess litter and recyclables can be taken to West Metro Recycling Centre.
- Assess your homes waste generation and consider taking steps to reduce your waste. Taking part in a waste reduction challenge like Plastic Free July, or going to a sustainable living workshop held by the West Metro Recycling Centre is a great way to start your journey.
How to report illegal dumping:
We encourage residents to report illegal dumping within the Town. To ensure the occurrence of illegal dumping can be investigated, reports require the following information:
- Location of the items
- Description and photographs of the items
- Date and time (if witnessed)
- Description of the person and/or vehicle involved (if witnessed)
Illegal dumping reports can be emailed to admin@mosmanpark.wa.gov.au or sent via the Antenno app.
How to report littering:
Registering as a Litter Reporter with Keep Australia Beautiful Council is an excellent way of helping to keep the Town free from litter. Once a report is made, it can result in a warning letter or a fine being issued to the person responsible for the litter.
